COLIN Todd has refused to pull the plug on the £1 million deal to bring Danish striker Bo Hansen to the Reebok.
Two weeks have passed since Wanderers agreed a deal with Brondby and discussed personal terms with the 26-year-old international, prompting speculation that snags over personal terms could scupper the move.
But the Bolton boss sounded confident of bringing talks to a successful conclusion today when he said: "There are just one or two little grey areas that need to be cleared up."
Nothing is expected to be finalised in time for Saturday's home game against Norwich when Wanderers are likely to field the side that won 2-1 at Sheffield United last time out.
That would mean no place in the starting line-up for transfer-listed Arnar Gunnlaugsson. Wanderers have still had no offers for their 14-goal top scorer, who was placed on the list at his own request last week.
Paul Warhurst has been under treatment for a slight calf strain, picked up in a private friendly game against Nottongham Forest last Thursday, but the injury is not expected to threaten his selection for the Norwich game.
Former Wanderers boss Bruce Rioch, who will definitely be without England U-21 midfielder Darren Eadie who has torn a cartilage in his knee, is playing down speculation that Wales striker Craig Bellamy could join Irish winger Keith O'Neill in his starting line-up at the Reebok.
Both had 90 minutes run-outs in the Reserves on Monday and although there has been talk of O'Neill definitely coming back after two months out with hamstring problem, Rioch says it could be too soon for Bellamy, who suffered a serious knee injury in a clash with Wolves defender Kevin Muscat at Molineux on December 12.
Ex-Magpies Scott Sellars and Robbie Elliott return to their old stomping ground tonight to play in front of a packed St James' Park when Newcastle fans turn out in force for Peter Beardsley's testimonial game.
WANDERERS' fourth round FA Youth Cup tie at Millwall, scheduled for February 2, has been put back a week to February 9.
The Academy game against Manchester United at The Cliff on Saturday will kick-off at 11.30, not 11am as planned.
