CORONATION Street star Bruce Jones has revealed how he regularly dons a flat cap and sunglasses to come shopping on Bolton Market.
Speaking to the BEN before a live appearance at the new Atlantis nightclub at the Valley Centertainment Park on Saturday night, the man famous for his live-wire character Les Battersby, said he loves Bolton and thinks it has a great character and great people.
He said: "Bolton is fantastic. It has some great places and the people are very friendly. I've got some great memories of Bolton because I used to travel to the Palais when I was a teenager for the odd night out.
"I passed it on my way here tonight and even though it is different now I recognised it straight away. There's certainly been a lot of changes in Bolton though over the years."
Bruce, who has been part of the Coronation Street cast for more than two years, said he likes the odd trip to Bolton to go shopping on the market.
"I have to wear a disguise like a cap and glasses so I don't get recognised, but I love coming to Bolton market," he said. "There are some brilliant shops and I always bring my wife along because she likes it too."
Bruce, who had to be up bright and early the following morning to set out for filming in Manchester at 6am added: "Coronation Street is great. I've had some really juicy storylines recently, and I've got another big one coming up, but I can't reveal anything.
"The cast are great and I have no plans to leave. If they offered me a 20 year contract tomorrow I would snap their hands off."
