WHAT a wonderful afternoon I spent at the Bolton Museum and Art gallery.
The Moran exhibition must not be missed. The painting is really special and the light shimmers from the mountains with the still Indians in the distance giving an impression of scale. The exhibition puts you "in the picture" about how the painting fits into Bolton and to Moran's other works.
Next door there is a spooky exhibition with all the elements that interest many young people - crop circles, aliens and other paranormal possibilities.
My morning was completed by a look at archive materials from Hall i'th' Wood and an excellent talk on Samuel Crompton. These were only on that day, but the other two exhibitions are on for some time.
If you have not been, go and see what all the fuss is about. You will not be disappointed.
