OWNER managers are being warned that they should prepare themselves for forthcoming workplace legislation.

A free employment law seminar is being held at the Reebok Stadium, Lostock on February 3.

It is being presented joinly by Bradford and Bingley Building Society and employment law consultancy Peninsula Business Services.

Mr Ray Wrigglesworth, Peninsula's senior employment law and health and safety consultant, will be the speaker.

A Peninsula spokesman said: "Owner-managers should brace themselves for a grim Spring ahead.

"Many of Britain's firms were born in an age of deregulation but they now face an unprecedented barrage of new legislation."

He added: "Employers face stiff penalties for not being up to date with the changes in employment law and delegates will receive practical advice on employment tribunal prevention."

Proprietors can book places on the morning seminar by contacting Stephen Shortt at Peninsula on 0161 834 2771.
