OUT-OF-SCHOOL care is now available for children in Deane, Derby and Daubhill whose parents are looking for a job or training.

The subsidised scheme has been introduced to provide a helping hand for parents who can search for a job safe in the knowledge their children are being looked after.

Funded by SRB money, the European Regional Development Fund and Bolton Council's Leisure Services, the scheme will work in partnership with Social Services, supporting children and families by offering care and play opportunities.

The scheme is registered to care for 40 children and employs a team of six play care workers.

Four of the places are reserved to offer support to children with a disability and children in need, in partnership with Social Services.

A fun hour is also running from Monday to Friday - 4.30pm to 5.30pm - until February 5 for children aged 4 to 11.

It costs 50p per session and must be booked a week in advance. Activities include games, baking, face painting, mask and puppet making, badge making and parachute games.

For more information on either scheme contact Janyce Worthington at the 3Ds Care Scheme on 655401 or Play and Children's Services on 522311 ext. 4107 or 4089.
