I READ with interest (BEN Thursday, January 14) your article giving Mr Crausby's views on community charge.
I was a Labour voter when Mr Crausby was a little lad, and just as everyone does, worked and saved to get a home together.
Now I am old enough to be his grannie, and still a Labour voter. I can assure him that the average householder, and pensioners in particular, are reaching the end of the road with yearly increases in community charges.
I doubt that removing capping from Council spending will lead to anything but higher taxes.
In the newspaper item, Mr Crausby appears to say that the public have a choice in the matter of paying higher local taxes. They certainly do - Hobson's Choice!
