A DISGRUNTLED motorist has slammed breakdown company bosses for failing to send her compensation and free membership, as promised.
For five months Margaret Young, 61, badgered staff at Green Flag for £10 compensation, owed to her after a recovery vehicle failed to turn up on time.
She had to wait two hours for the repair truck to arrive - an hour longer than the company's target time - meaning she was eligible for the cash back.
But despite five calls she had not been sent the money and last month in desperation she contacted the BEN.
A company spokesman claimed the mix-up had been caused by confusion over addresses and stressed the money would be posted on, along with six months free membership.
But weeks after the firm made their pledge to the BEN, all that Mrs Young has been sent is a reminder to renew her membership!
Yesterday she stormed: "I'm livid about it. I find it amazing that they are able to send my reminder to the right address, but they seem to have trouble with getting my cheque to me.
"When I realised it was simply a reminder to renew my contract with them I threw it one side. I was disgusted with them after everything they'd said."
Mrs Young, of Carlton Street, Farnworth, is considering taking her business elsewhere if the company does not settle her claim soon.
A Green Flag spokesman said: "We are now manually preparing the cheque to ensure it will be sent out in the next few days.
"The six months complimentary membership will also be included and we are currently trying to contact the customer direct to inform her of this."
