MEMBERS of Leigh Green Party are asking Xanadu snowdome and leisure complex developers to insure nearby house foundations because of the risk of damage.
They believe the effects of surface drift and the draining of ground water could affect the foundations of homes and have suggested that developers should offer householders a legally binding agreement to compensate them for any damage sustained.
Leigh Green Party spokesman Chris Maile said: "The developers and Wigan planners have been aware of this potential problem from day one, yet not one resident has been approached."
The Leigh Green Party are urging local residents to attend the next meeting of the action group on February 8 at Leigh Cricket Club, 8pm.
