POOP scoop bins are being provided to rid the streets of Bolton of dog dirt.
It is part of an anti-fouling campaign to give dog owners no excuse to allow their pets to mess in the street without cleaning it up.
Council chiefs are preparing to take tough new measures to clean up Bolton's streets.
"No fouling signs" - enforceable by a tough fine - could, as already reported, appear in every street instead of just selected areas at present.
But Liberal Democrat Cllr Mrs Carole Swarbrick has urged town hall bosses to make providing more bins their top priority.
She said that she welcomed the new moves and added: "There are some very selfish, irresponsible and inconsiderate owners."
But she asked for the extra bins to give considerate owners somewhere to empty their poop scoop.
Cllr Jack Foster, planning and environment committee chairman, said that the extra bins would be one of the measures introduced.
There is also a "good dog ownership" campaign planned to make people aware of the need to clean up after their pets.
Cllr Foster added: "We are very concerned about this issue and we want to make people aware that as well as the mess it leaves, it can be very dangerous for children."
