JAMES Evans goes into tonight's FA Youth Cup tie at Millwall as the newest recruit to the Wanderers professional ranks. The 17-year-old keeper from Glasgow - a former Scotland Schoolboy international - has signed his first pro contract after a string of impressive displays with the Wanderers Academy side.
Evans had a short spell with Aberdeen before being brought to the Reebok by Bolton scout John Jackson.
"He's been an ever-present in our Under 19s fixtures this season, even though he is only just 17," said Academy director Martin Dobson. The Bolton boys showed their mettle when they qualified for the 4th round with a dramatic 3-2 replay win at Barnsley. A home tie against Liverpool or Wimbledon awaits tonight's winners.
