TAKE a step in the right direction and organise a Mother's Day Crocus Walk - Sunday March 14.
In the UK, over 300 women a week die from breast cancer - many of them mothers. Being a mother, as well as a daughter, I can appreciate the devastating effect that losing a loved one to breast cancer can have on a family.
So, in the run up to this year's Mother's Day, I am joining forces with the research charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer to encourage your readers to organise their own sponsored Mother's Day Crocus Walks, or to join a local walk.
Breakthrough needs to raise over £5.5 million a year to support research. The sponsorship money raised for all the Crocus Walks across the country will really make a difference.
If you would like an information pack on how to organise your own walk, or details of any locals walks that you could join, please call Breakthrough's Fund-raising Campaigns Team on (0171) 557 6622.
