Wanderers are waiting for a specialist's report to get the lowdown on Paul Warhurst's hamstring injury. The centre-back pulled out after only 15 minutes of Saturday's 1-0 win at Grimsby having injured himself over-stretching for a ball.

"Sending him to the specialist was just a precaution," Reebok boss Colin Todd explained. "We just need to know the time factor involved; whether it will be two, three, four weeks . . . or whatever. The scan should tell us exactly what we are dealing with." Warhurst's injury, however, has not prompted Todd to make a renewed bid for Sheffield Wednesday's Jon Newsome.

Despite tabloid speculation suggesting Wanderers head a queue of clubs trying to sign the experienced defender, who had a successfull six-match loan spell at the Reebok, it appears someone across the Pennines is trying to stoke up interest.

One defender Todd is looking at is American international Michael Burns, who plays for New England Revolution.

Burns is doing the rounds in England and, if Wanderers can get clearance in time, he will have a trial in the reserves against Sheffield Wednesday at the Reebok tomorrow night - a game in which Andy Todd will take the next step in his comeback bid.

Bo Hansen, who flew in from Denmark last night, was hoping to complete his £1 million transfer from Brondby today. The 26-year-old striker was having a medical this morning and was due to discuss personal terms this afternoon.

Wanderers' skipper Scott Sellars missed training yesterday after taking a knock on his ankle at Grimsby but is confident he will be fit for Saturday's home game against West Brom.
