FARNWORTH AODS presents the musical, Hit the Deck, in April.
The society prides itself on staging shows which the public otherwise might not see.
Hit the Deck, by Vincent Youmans was first produced as a stage show in 1927 and ran for more than 1,000 performances.
In 1929, the show was made into a film. There was also a later film called Follow the Fleet, starring Gene Kelly.
The society describes the show as "a hoot", featuring beautiful costumes and scenery all centred around the navy.
The show is directed and choreographed by Bernard Smith and music is in the hands of Peter England.
Members of the large cast are enjoying their rehearsals for the show, which runs from April 19 to 24 at the Albert Halls. Booking forms are available from the society's Ticket Secretary on Bolton 527092. Tickets are also available from St Andrew's Travel.
