THE FINDING of the old Dr Who film must have been very exciting to fans of the cult sci-fi series. The real Holy Grail, among fans, is the fourth episode of The Tenth Planet where the Cyberman plan, which resembled an inverted Earth, is turned up. I think this was when Patrick Troughton took over from William Hartnell, during the Autumn of 1966.
The Marco Polo story would be an interesting find and is linked with Coronation Street actor William Russell, who played Rita Sullivan's late husband, the kindly Tim Sullivan. He was one of the original team in early Dr Who episodes. Mark Eden, famous for evil "Alan Bradley" played Marco Polo.
Of course, these episodes should not have been lost in the first place. (Some were deliberately destroyed.) Well that's the BBC for you!
