IT was definitely a case of puppy love when a group of schoolchildren were introduced to Warburtons' new TV star.
Dog Car, complete with fur, large brown ears and cute nose, is the star of the Bolton-based bakery's new advertising campaign.
Moving away from the traditional "family members" theme of adverts, Warburtons have decided to use off-beat humour to catch the consumers' attention.
And Dog Car certainly caught the attention of pupils from St Pauls CE Primary School in Astley Bridge.
Year Six pupils Adam Patel, Andrea Hunt and Joseph Saunders, all 10, couldn't resist climbing all over the car while munching on complementary slices of Warburtons bread.
"It's fantastic," squealed Andrea, "all nice and furry."
"I've seen the advert on telly," said Joseph, "and the young boy in it is really embarrassed about his mum picking him up in the car."
The ad depicts a young boy, the only one in Britain to be picked up in a furry car, embarrassed by his mother vacuum cleaning the car - she runs a dog grooming business.
But once inside the car, the lad opens his lunchbox to reveal delicious sandwiches made with Warburtons bread . . . maybe life's not that bad after all!
Watch out for the ad currently running on TV screens.
