TURTON Tower turned the clock back as it opened for the new season on Sunday.
Tudor role play leaders mingled with the public at the launch of the 1999 season to add an air of authenticity to the popular tourist attraction.
The tower introduced the characters of Mary and William Orrell, previous owners of the house, plus Mary's maid, Agnes and William's steward, Alexander last year to help foster an interest in Tudor history among schoolchildren.
But the idea proved so popular that the characters, dressed in period costume of around the 1590s, are going to be appearing for the public on selected days.
The family and their servants can next be seen in residence on Easter Sunday and Monday.
Visitors are also now able to see the completed Tudor bedroom, now dressed with hand sewn authentic linen.
Any school groups interested in a tour of the tower can contact Bolton 852203.
