Wild about the West IF you spot a Red Indian or two wandering round Le Mans Crescent - don't worry, they're probably just looking for their teepee.

Bolton Museum and Art Gallery is going all Wild West with its half-term activities and using the famous Moran painting as inspiration.

Mask making, native Indian jewellery making, dressing up in authentic costumes, colouring sheets, jigsaws and quizzes will be on offer as well as story telling round a teepee.

Teepee

From the museum, Caroline Ashworth says: "We have taken our new painting by Thomas Moran as inspiration for lots of exciting activities in the museum and library which will keep the half-term holidays full of fun.

"The workshops are running on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, from 10.30am to 3.30pm, and youngsters can learn about native American Indians, as well as discovering about watercolours and the Wild West."

There will be story telling round the teepee in the art gallery each day at 11am, noon and 2pm and all other activities will take place in the museum and library. Shopping with Monica MONICA Lewinsky will show shoppers just what brought a president to trial when she appears at the Trafford Centre on Thursday, March 25.

The former White House intern will be signing copies of her book, Monica's Story, which was written by non other than Princess Diana's biographer, Andrew Morton.

Miss Lewinsky will be spending four hours at the Trafford Centre where bosses are said to be "delighted" at being one of only four venues chosen by the star of the American Senate hearing. Date for all Bennies THERE must be hundreds of Benny Hill fans in Bolton - the late comedian still has something of a cult following both here and in America, where his programmes are still shown.

Now Granada Plus satellite channel is launching a Benny Hill lookalike contest in time for the comic's return to our screens in March.

Repeats of Benny's hilarious antics will be broadcast weekdays at 8pm.

So all you Benny lookalikes out there should send a photograph to: Benny Hill Look-alike Competition, Granada Plus, PO Box 23157. Big Issue is food THE Good Samaritan spirit is obviously alive and well and living in Bolton.

The Big Issue seller who sits on a chair in all weathers on Victoria Square was in his usual spot outside W H Smith on a very chilly Saturday afternoon when a woman with two young children approached him.

After buying a copy from him, she said: "We've just bought some hot sausage rolls, would you like one?"

And then gave the grateful Big Issue seller a large sausage roll - warming him in more ways than one.
