THE CBI is launching a major regional initiative at the North West Manufacturing Exhibition to be held at the G-Mex Centre, Manchester on March 10 and 11.
"Fit for the Future" is a programme which promotes the spread of Best Practice from one company to another.
The CBI believes that non-competitive companies are willing to share expertise.
For example, a retailer can guide an engineering company in the best practice to achieve rapid stock turnover - an area in which the retail industry excels.
Manchester Training and Enterprise Council will be organising seminars at the exhibition which will include real case studies on how Fit for the Future works in practice.
Mr Alec Daly, Chairman of the CBI's National Manufacturing Council, says the campaign is intended to last for five years and could potentially add £60 billion to manufacturing industry GDP.
Copies of the seminar programme are available from Margaret Lewis of Manchester TEC on 0161 245 4822.
