AS our exclusive story last night revealed, a European treaty demands that seven-year-old Bolton boy Christopher Lomax should be returned to Britain.
But despite that, a Greek judge has refused to comply with the decision and Christopher is spending his days in the sea port town of Piraeus since being snatched by Greek relatives.
Not surprisingly, Christopher's father, Ian, was devastated when he learned his Greek wife, Helen, had taken the child to a secret address.
Whatever the relationship is between Christopher's parents, it is wrong that the rules of the treaty are being flouted and that the little boy is unable to register at any of the Greek schools.
That is why the BEN has launched an appeal to assist Mr Lomax with his legal costs.
Christopher is the important person in all of this. His needs must come first and it is right that his father should be able to fight for him through the courts.
