A YOUNG man was seriously injured after being in an accident with a minibus late last night.
Matthew Balshaw, 20, was with a group of people on Higher Market Street, Little Lever when he was injured just after midnight.
The minibus was driven by Martin Knights, 44, of Hillside Avenue, Farnworth.
Mr Balshaw, from Park Road, Little Lever, received serious head and facial injuries and bruising to his body in the collision.
He was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital and later transferred to the facial injuries unit at Blackburn Royal Infirmary.
Injuries
His injuries are not considered life threatening and a spokesman at the hospital today described his condition as "comfortable".
Mr Knights gave a negative breath test at the scene. Police are not appealing for witnesses.
A pedestrian was injured in an accident on a busy Bolton road last night.
Darren Nuttall, 34 of Markland Hill Lane, Bolton, was injured on Moss Bank Way, Johnson Fold.
Mr Nuttall collided with a Vauxhall Astra being driven by Mark Chance, 28, of Torrington Avenue, Bolton.
Mr Nuttall was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital and was later transferred to the facial injuries unit at Blackburn Royal Infirmary.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident which happened at 6.40pm last night near the junction with Tattersall Avenue.
