A KIND-HEARTED Bolton fireman is set to help make a young cancer sufferer's Disney dreams come true.

Little Declan Stulock, five, is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment as he battles against Hodgkin's disease for the second time in two years.

His family are desperately trying to raise cash to pay for a special holiday to Florida's Disneyland for the sick youngster.

Gruelling

Now their fundraising efforts have been given a welcome boost with news that firefighter Stacey Jeffries is to run the London Marathon in April in support of Declan.

It will be the second time that Stacey, from Bradshaw, has taken on the gruelling course.

The money raised will be split equally between Express Link-up - aimed at providing computer links for hospitalised children - and Declan's planned holiday trip.

His uncle, David Greatorex, said: "Declan's only got one last chemotherapy treatment left. We've been told that they won't be able to do anything else if that fails. It would be a case of hoping for the best.

"The chemo is making him really ill. He's constantly sick and very tired and he's lost his hair. It's awful to see him when he's just finished a session. It's heartbreaking." On Monday Declan travelled with his mum Carol to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital in Pendlebury for one of his last chemotherapy treatments.

In the last few months hundreds of pounds have been raised to help pay for the Great Lever boy to enjoy a holiday surrounded with his Disney favourites.

A special fun night is to be held at Horwich Ex-Servicemen's Club on Saturday night to raise extra cash for Declan's planned trip. Anyone who can sponsor Stacey should contact him on 0802 404436.
