LOCAL businesses have an opportunity to hear how telecommunications are likely to develop in the new Millennium.
Mr Graham Whitehead, the Advanced Concepts Manager at the BT Laboratories in Martlesham Heath, Ipswich, is to give a presentation on "Virtual New Worlds" at the Bolton Business Centre in Lower Bridgeman Street this Friday at noon. (Feb 19).
It is being organised by Bolton Business Ventures in partnership with Business Link Bolton and Bury. BT is one of BBV's sponsors.
Most places on the hour-long seminar have been taken, but one or two are available for small businesses interested in seeing how they could gain a competitive advantage from the latest technologies.
Mr Whitehead says the problem now is that mountains and mountains of information are available and accessible, but mere humans are unable to cope.
He believes 1999 will be the year that historians of the future will identify as the turning point of the information age.
Information on the seminar is available from Sylvia Philips at BBV - 01204 391400. Talking
