Hyde Utd FC 3 Chorley FC 4
BIZARRE. It's the only word to describe this amazing game which saw Chorley grab three points with the last kick - or in this case, header of the match.
Given their recent lack of goals, any Chorley fan who would have offered the opinion that the Magpies would have scored four times in one half would have been an immediate candidate for the 'yellow van'.
But that is what happened against a side that had only conceded 11 goals in their previous 13 home league games.
There was little evidence of what was to come in a desultory opening 45 minutes which saw Hyde take the lead on the half hour through Page's far post header from Dolby's deep cross.
Off-target efforts by Black and debutant Paul Jones were the sum of the Magpies' first half modest forward forays.
The second half though was a totally different story as Hyde's defence basically disintegrated.
Chorley's fightback was sparked by Black who equalised early in the second half with a superb volley over Edington from Millard's cross.
Ten minutes later, Millard again got down the right and when Edington parried his fierce drive, Potts was on hand to hammer in the loose ball.
A further 10 minutes on and the Magpies seemed to have wrapped up the points when McCluskie set up Black to find the bottom corner with a deflected 20-yard drive.
Home and dry? No, there were twists in this tale yet.
Yeo gave Hyde a lifeline, squeezing the ball in from a tight angle and in injury time, Chorley's hopes of a win seemed to have been dashed when substitute Moncrieffe crashed in the equaliser.
The final act of this compelling drama then arrived in the last minute of injury time - the 97th as it happened! - when Chorley came straight back form the potentially devastating blow of Moncrieffe's leveller.
Substitutes Cain and Mitchell combined to win a corner and when Potts swung it over, the Magpies' third substitute Gray climbed to bury an unstoppable header past the disbelieving home defenders. Truly remarkable!
