I refer to the recent report in the BEN that the Water Place is to become a super centre. Another cinema in Bolton would be totally unnecessary. We already have two multiplex cinemas, one at Middlebrook and another one in "The Valley".
What we do need is an ice rink, the only other one within reasonable distance is at Blackburn, and that can take 20-30 minutes to get there depending on where you live in Bolton.
The ice rink at Blackburn is always busy, which indicates that there is a constant demand for this amenity, plus they provide a league ice hockey team that receives much local interest and gives the town something to support and be proud of.
