UNLESS you happen to be a real connoisseur of wine, the world of bouquets, bodies and noses can all be a bit of a mystery.
But staff at a town centre bar have all the information at their fingertips to help take the strain out of selecting the right wine.
The team at La Tasca Spanish Tapas Bar on Bradshawgate have just completed a wine training course.
The course, run by the bar's leading wine supplier Boutinot, has taught staff how to correctly serve wine, which wines to recommend with different dishes on the menu and where and how the wines on the list are produced.
A 30 question test had to be completed before La Tasca staff graduated from the course.
Everyone achieved at least 80 per cent.
Kevin Sambrook of Boutinot said: "The La Tasca staff are now probably the most competent Spanish wine professionals in any chain of Spanish bars or restaurants in the UK."
