Flood - could 1999 be their big year? Flood set to ride guitar band wave THIS year is hotly tipped by industry insiders, like Radio 1's Mark Goodier and Jayne Middlemiss, to be the year of the guitar bands. Chart hits from The Offspring, Blondie and Lenny Kravitz, as well as record success for Terrorvision and new comers Gay Dad, has provoked growing interest in the forthcoming release from Warrington-based Resolution Records. DNA (Dawn of the New Alternative) features six of the best unsigned bands around.
And there's been considerable interest in Resolution's current repertoire which includes the Bolton band Flood. They've attracted the interest of Innocent (Virgin) and Eagle Rock since supporting Level 42 and The Shire Horses, which coincidentally is fronted by the Bolton Radio 1 DJ Mark Radcliffe.
Other Resolution bands include Agent Cooper who have met with reps from Chrysalis, East West and London Records. And Arista, Beggars Banquet, Gut, Nude and Mother Records have all been linked with the Preston band Chevron.
