A Harwood pub, which has introduced innovations including take-away pizzas, has been nominated for a national award.
The Seven Stars on Lea Gate has been short-listed in the Community Pub of the Year Awards.
The contest, run by the Brewers and Licensed Retailers Association, offers £21,000 in prize money to go to charities nominated by pub licensees and their customers.
The family-orientated Seven Stars has been singled out for its contribution to community life in Harwood.
Part of its food menu includes pizzas which can be taken home from the pub.
Each year licensees Pamela Gardner and David Holland throw a Christmas party for about 50 of their regulars' children.
Pamela said: "We think it's important to involve the whole family at our pub."
Pub staff and regulars also raise hundreds of pounds every year for local charity and especially Bolton Hospice.
The hospice has cared for a number of former regulars and their families.
Regional judging panels will now decide if the Seven Stars will progress to the national final of the competition.
