my relatives I am the last surviving relative of my late grandfather's marriage and I am trying to trace any relatives on his side of the family.
He was unknown to me and I know little of him except the following and would be pleased to hear from anyone who believe they may be relatives of his or indeed anyone who may know of his relatives.
My grandfather, James Moore, was born on February 27 1873 at Donnington, Spalding, Lincolnshire, to a William Moore, a tailor, and Emma Moore. I believe he had a brother, George Moore, and a sister, Louise.
For some time in his married life to Annie Moore , he lived in the Darwen area of Lancashire. They had three children, George Ivan, Minnie and May, all now deceased.
Minnie Moore had contact with a cousin in Bolton thought to be one of his brother George's children. She also maintained contact with a relative in Bolton until her death in 1989.
At the time of his death, James Moore is thought to have been over 80 years old (circa 1960). At the time of his demise, I do not know of his precise whereabouts although I believe it may have been in the Birmingham or Northampton areas.
James Moore had one distinguishing feature - he only had one foot. The other was lost in an industrial accident around 1908.
If there are any surviving relatives in the Bolton area, or anyone who could help in any way, I would be pleased to hear from them.
