TWO pounds a week my licence, it is not very much,
To give me entertainment and keep world affairs in touch.
With 'quiz' games to stir in my brains and show I can still spell,
I know I have not a high IQ but it does me very well.
The problems in the current 'soaps' I could cure in half the time,
I'd give them love and friends to trust and laughter would be prime.
My garden could be such a joy, I feel Titchmarsh is a friend,
A lovely show I would have if I could only bend.
The cooking makes my taste buds glow, such delicious meals are shown,
You get an urge to try them but, too much work for one alone.
Where would we be without you, the OAPs TV friend?
With its laughter, chats and knowledge from morn till the day's end. By Mary Heppenstall,
Ainsworth Square, Bolton
