THIS time last year, the life of Carlton Constantine revolved around playing football, having a pint at his local and working hard.
A few weeks later he was in a coma at the Royal Bolton Hospital . . .
The 30-year-old suffered a brain tumour which left him in hospital over the Easter period.
Carlton - known as Connie to his mates - has since had a mild stroke and walks with a stick.
His eyesight, speech and hearing is affected and he also suffers memory loss.
But the former warehouse manager and baker for Greenhalgh's is still planning to help fellow sufferers.
Challenging
He is preparing to embark on a challenging sponsored walk on Easter Saturday, April 3.
He intends walking from his local pub, The Kings Arms on Chorley Old Road, to Rivington Pike to raise money to help buy vital equipment for pituitary tumour patients at Salford's Hope Hospital.
As a result of his pituitary tumour, Carlton had an operation and radiotherapy treatment and now undergoes regular injections to help combat its growth.
The Halliwell man will be joined by his family and friends on the day.
If anyone wishes to join Carlton, or would like to sponsor his trek, which is due to start at 10am, he can be contacted on Bolton 435397.
