I am undertaking a project about leisure and recreation for women in Bolton.
I am a student at Lancaster University and I am looking at women who played rounders in Bolton between the years 1918-1939. I would be very grateful if anyone who knows anything about rounders in the period 1918-1939, could get in touch with me .
Here are a few questions which you may be able to answer, although any information will be useful.
Which team did you play for? What type of clothing was worn? How did you become involved in rounders? What type of playing field was used? Who set up the team? What effect did this have on you and your family life? Was it enjoyable? Was it a widespread leisure activity in Bolton at this time?
