LEIGH Centurions are pressing RL disciplinary chiefs to take action on the foul tackle that has put Chris Parr out of this weekend's Challenge Cup tie at Widnes. Parr, a recent recruit from Rochdale, was hit by a high shot during Sunday's Northern Ford Premiership defeat at Dewsbury and although Leigh were awarded a penalty, the second rower took no further part in the game and he is still in some distress.
"Chris suffered a whiplash type injury and it's still causing us some concern," reveals coach Ian Millward. "He's still got some numbness around the shoulder and neck area and has a tingling sensation down his arm. We've sent him to hospital for an x-ray in an effort to discover the full extent of the injury. "We've viewed the incident on video and personally I feel there is a case for the Dewsbury player to answer. What happens now is down to the League."
Winger and joint top try scorer David Ingram, another casualty from the Dewsbury game, has a badly twisted knee and is another non-starter against Widnes.
Leigh Miners' pair Lee Lomax and Mark Meadows have been suspended as a result of their dismissals in the recent Challenge Cup tie against Hull KR. Lomax was banned for two games and Meadows four. Rovers' pack man Craig Hardy was banned for two games after being put on report for a dangerous tackle.
