TALENTED performers are parading their skills again as Bar Peru begins its new Search For A Star.
Following the success of its 1998 contest, the Manor Street venue has already started heats for the 1999 title.
In heat one vocalist Dave Gee from Horwich beat the competition with his Marvin Gaye style singing.
The judges were so impressed that Dave was immediately signed up to sing at Club Mondo.
Second was William Carr, 21, from Bolton. Joint third were Sophia Edge from Horwich and Dizz Byrom from Bury.
At heat two the judges could not seperate the three best performers and voted them all joint winners.
They were Barry Chapman from Egerton, singing Frank Sinatra style, Stephen Hart from Bolton, singing Gene Pitney, and Andrew Elvin signing and Elton John number.
Delighted compere Lloyd Sternberg said: "The second heat was more like a concert than a talent night. It was a privelige to be in their company."
The winner of the final will receive £500. Would-be amateur performers can register by phoning Bolton 521321 or 0468 998888.
