ONLY three games managed to survive the weather last weekend in the Chorley Nissan Sunday League.
The result of the day must go to second division's bottom club Adlington Ceramics who were without a win and facing league leaders Golden Lion, unbeaten in the league all season.
Ceramics led 2-0 at half time with well worked goals from Vince and Fairhurst.
But the home side spent most of the second half on the defensive. A second goal from Vince sealed the points as Ceramics beat all the odds to resord a memorable 3-2 victory.
Second place Red Lion played their home game against the team one place below them, Withnell United, at Withnell's ground due to unfit Chorley Council pitches.
Red Lion were blasted into an early lead thanks to a fiercly struck Cant free kick, but Kitchen headed the sides level on 15 minutes.
A touchline cross from Taylor beat everyone to settle in the back of the net, and within minutes Platt scored to take Red Lion 3-1 up.
Billington made it four, but Westwood halved the deficit just before half time.
After Chaplin netted the first goal of the second half for Withnell, the game heated up.
With 20 minutes remaining and both teams pressing, Platt scored his second and Withnell's fifth. Then Withnell collapsed as Platt added two more and further goals from Critchley, Warren and Cant sealed an emphatic 10-3 win.
In Division One, two first half goals from Foster saw Brooks Arms leading at Adlington Engineers. But a second half fightback saw Adlington win 5-2 with goals from Sharrock, Barnes, Pearson, Whittle and Morris.
