WEB Dynamics is impressed by the fact that research resources in the company's specialised field are available at Bolton Institute's highly-respected Textile Department.
Mollie Temple, the Institute's Principal, referred to this important work when she spoke to the audience gathered at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton for this week's satellite-linked Innovation Lecture.
She said: "In the Institute there are teams of staff developing new knowledge which will help develop the medical textile sector, geotextiles for construction, flame retardant fabrics and many more.
"This is new knowledge for innovation, for new products and, we hope, the basis of new companies and new sectors of industry."
She said the Institute's skills had been recognised nationally by the appointment of Prof Dick Horrocks, Dean of the Faculty of Technology, as a member of the newly-formed Textiles and Clothing Strategy Group - a joint industry-union initiative which aims to identify action to improve the competitiveness of the sector.
