IN reply to Councillor Wilson's letter asserting that Clayton residents are being "silly" (Citizen February 11).

May I say that Councillor Wilson, as leader of Chorley Council, is hardly a fair assessor of what is, or is not, silly when one considers the following:

What was sensible about spending £275,000 on a computer that won't work properly?

What was sensible about waiting 10 years and losing £2m before doing something about the Clayton Sports Centre?

What was sensible about wasting many expensive council employees' man hours to provide a showground, for it to be finally aborted?

And the mind boggles at some of the council's recent decisions with regard to town centre plans, which will no doubt bring further need to increase rates to pay for them?

Now that is silly, Mr Wilson, and no mistake, and forthcoming elections will prove it!

Not a Lib Lab member,

Clayton.
