TOMORROW, February 27, Bolton Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament is to take part in a nationwide series of demonstrations against the continuation of economic sanctions and the bombing of Iraq (the so-called No Fly Zones have no status in international law). Denis Halliday, the former UN Humanitarian Co-ordinator in Iraq, who resigned on grounds of conscience estimates that there are now 6-7000 sanctions-related child deaths per month (an estimate with which UNICEF agrees).
The Iraqi people and, in particular, the children, are innocent and powerless hostages in a Western campaign to depose Saddam Hussein.
We will be leafleting and seeking signatories in the vicinity of the Hick Hargreaves stationary steam engine in Oxford Street from 1-3pm.
