MAY I protest very strongly about the waste of money spent on planting shrubs around the Harper Green playing fields. Did anyone actually give any thought to the playing aspect of this project? I doubt it.
Playing is a very important part of growing up, the children of Harper Green have been deprived for long enough of a safe playing area, or better still a park where they do not have to cross a main road.
There must be some part of this vast field to spare for our future generations.
What about our youths? Where do they go except hanging around street corners? They desperately need a youth club. This would make an excellent Millennium gesture. Councillors, surely this must be worth a few votes.
An observant old codger of Harper Green.
