Wolves Res 1 Wanderers Res 3 A CROWD of over 8,000 saw Bolton spoil Steve Bull's return to action after a five month injury lay off with a well deserved 3-1 victory at Molineux last night. On a heavy pitch, that was only passed playable late in the day, it was Bolton who got off to the better start. Ricardo Gardner almost caught out keeper Matt Murray with a 30 yard angled cross and Eidur Gudjohnsen headed against the bar.

Gudjohnsen revelled in the conditions and he headed Bolton in front in the 32nd minute when he converted Peter Morrison's right wing cross. Wolves levelled four minutes from the interval with Bull claiming an 'assist'. He got away down to the left to get in a shot that Birkir Kristinnson could only parry and Robert Niestros was on hand to convert from close range.

Two minutes after the restart Gudjohnsen made a direct run on goal from 40 yards out. He let fly from 20 yards and his shot went low beyond the keeper and into the bottom corner of the net for Wanderers' second. Bull left the fray after 74 minutes and four minutes later Wanderers made it safe with a third. Morrison's shot was blocked and the rebound fell to Bo Hansen whose shot took a slight deflection on its way into the net.

Gudni Bergsson came through a full 90 minutes in his comeback game while Danish trialist Martin Nielsin teamed up well with the hard-working Luke Staton in the Bolton midfield.

Team: Kristinnson, Bergsson, Aljofree, Nielsin, Todd, Strong, Morrison, Staton, Gudjohnsen, Hansen (Potter), Gardner.
