I WRITE after reading the BEN article: Can anybody out there solve this UFO riddle?
I was reminded of a similar incident that occurred around the early 1970s in the Winter Hill region.
At the time I was about 10 years old and was staying with my aunt and uncle at their Bankfield Street home during the school holidays.
I recall that, along with my best friend Glynn Thornton and group of neighbours from the street, we trekked up to the "stumps" on the field at the back of Edbro's, to see if we could see any UFOs that had apparently been spotted in the area.
I was just a young boy and it was a long time ago,but I remember quite vividly the excitement that I felt standing there on that cold dark evening, as car headlights would light the distant sky, and for a moment, wondered, maybe even hoped, these distant lights could be something more.
Now 35 years old and living in Adelaide, South Australia, I wonder if any of your readers were reminded of this very evening, or maybe even went "trekking" for UFOs in their part of Bolton?
