KAIKOURA, made up of Mike Kneafsey, Maria Ingham and a new female drummer, 19-year-old Anna Ashworth are well known on the folk song circuit. But they also have another string to their bow as the indie Irish rock band, Indian Runner, where the threesome are joined by the Irish musician Danny Cameron and bass player Matt Dyke. Danny is highly regarded in music circles and plays a mean accordion and penny whistle, while Matt has a wealth of experience gleaned from working with othe bands.
And Indian Rubber have already gleaned the support of Audioweb, who I am told, heard them rehearsing and said that they were going to be big.
And band founder Mike Kneafsey, of Junction Road, Deane agrees.
He told the BEN: "I just know we're going to be big. I can feel it."
You can catch the trio known as Kaikoura at The Howcroft Inn, Bolton tomorrow night. And on March 20, Indian Runner will be playing the Hare & Hounds in Bolton.
