BOLTON Barbershop Harmony Club are putting on the glitz with a star-studded show at the Albert Halls, Bolton on Saturday, March 27. As well as their own Cottontown Chorus, a leading men's Barbershop chorus, the club has assembled a top line-up of performers. The Chorus started in 1979 and has grown from six members to about 60. Its current chorus director is Michael Dargan. Cottontown Chorus recently appeared by invitation in Boston, USA.
Featured will be Chordial Exchange, the 1998 British Barbershop Champions. Three of the quartet are members of Bolton Barhershop Harmony and sing with the Cottontown Chorus.
Also appearing will be Easy Street, a barbershop quartet who are currently rated as being in the top 10 quartets in the country.
Another special treat is the Cheshire Chord Company who have twice been British Ladies Barbershop Champions and achieved second place in an international barbershop competition in 1996.
They were semi-finalists in Sainsbury's Choir of the Year.
Hosp-8-ality is a leading barbershop octet who have been gold medal winners four times.
The line-up is completed by Alan Firth who is described as "Not just another magician".
His accomplice in mirth and magic is his pet puppet, Tyson.
The show has been organised to assist Chordial Exchange to compete in America later this year and any extra cash will go to local charities.
There are only 120 tickets left to be sold for what looks set to be a super show.
