A LOVE-sick Bolton man found himself stuck in a letter box as he tried to serenade his girlfriend.
The 26-year-old man trapped his arm in the letter box in Haroldene Street, Tonge Moor, after he had pushed his hand through last night.
And he had to ring the firebrigade on his mobile telephone with his free hand because his girlfriend had not even woken up.
Firefighters freed him by taking the letter box off the door and then cutting it.
A firefighter spokesman said: "She didn't seem at all bothered by the attention he had been trying to give her.
"We had to go around the back of the house to wake her so we could take the letter box off. The young man looked rather sheepish.
"He suffered a swollen hand and perhaps a little bruised pride."
