FINDINGS from one of the biggest public opinion surveys in Chorley is due to be launched next week by community group leaders.
Clayton Brook Community Group is launching the results of a survey this coming Monday which questioned around one third of the population of Clayton Brook. Leaders believe more than 880 people in and around the village were questioned, and they believe the results will give a valuable insight into the needs and strengths of the new town estate.
Liberal Democrat councillor and chairman of the Group, Simon Jones, said: "The survey was carried out for the Clayton Brook Community Group last year.
"It was a very lengthy questionnaire, and it is a tribute to so many local people that they were willing to take part, although of course it is in their interests of the whole community to have this information."
Secretary of the Clayton Brook Community Group, William Mellor of Daisy Meadow, said: "The survey draws out views and ideas about a wide range of local issues.
"Such things as the image of the estate, bus services, facilities for children and youths, management of the estate by the Council and housing associations, all came under the spotlight."
He added: "Altogether there are 25 tables of information and the survey is 41 pages long. It is about the people of Clayton Brook and therefore we are presenting it to them for their comments."
The survey is being presented on Monday March 15 at 7pm at the Clayton Brook Community Church, Great Greens Lane.
