Bolton Museum and Art Gallery is offering youngsters a break from Easter eggs.

A series of exciting activities are being planned for the holidays including an opportunity to handle live snakes from the Aquarium.

There's also a unique exhibition "Beauty and the Beast" which explores the exotic world of animal life and costume through shape, colour and form.

There's also an opportunity to dress up in furs and costumes and a face painter will be visiting the gallery working animal magic to make children into wild creatures.

You can also discover weird and wonderful mysteries in the latest exhibition "The Unexplained: Photographs of the Paranormal" with startling images of the supernatural include UFOs, ghosts, fairies and the Loch Ness monster.

There's a competition with the opportunity to win a £10 book voucher from Waterstone's.

Spooky story telling sessions are also being organised in conjunction with Bolton Central Children's Library. "A Secret Garden" is an exhibition on mosses and liverworts designed to appeal to those with green fingers.

Bolton Museum and Art Gallery is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9.30am-5.30pm, Saturday 10am-5pm and is closed on Wednesday and Sundays, as well as Good Friday and Easter Monday.
