ON Tuesday, March 2, 1999, the Home Secretary Jack Straw, appealed to old ladies to take on yobs who cause misery in towns and cities. He wants them to join his new army of crimefighters. Where are our police? If this is your last straw Jack, you had better put both hands up and say I cannot stop the crime in our country. What you should be doing is getting more police on the beat like they used to do in those far off days instead of riding round in their pandas.
When you expect us civilians to stand and fight, how is it the police tell us not to go out and face them? Come on Jack, resign if you can't do your job. I could expect this of a Tory Home Secretary but not from this Labour caring government. You have let us down. You say you have tackled one or two vandals. How would you like to tackle a gang of 20 as I have. I find it an insult to expect old ladies to fight for you, Jack. Shame on you.
