SHOPPING at Morrison's supermarket, Chorley Old Road, Bolton using public transport is quite a problem if one lives in the vicinity of Church Road!

Why not reinstate the 502 bus that used to leave Moor Lane and terminate at Barrow Bridge travelling via Ivy Road?

The period I am mentioning would be the late 1960s/70s, and the bus number would be No.2, and possibly Bolton Corporation Transport or SELNEC.

To travel from my address on public transport to Morrison's on Chorley Old Road would mean that I had a couple of choices: Travel to the junction of Vernon Street/St George's Road (from Harpers Lane bus stop) on the 501, and then wait on St George's Road for either a 519 (Johnson Fold bus) or a 125 (Preston or Chorley bus), and alight at St Luke's Church just below Morrison's on Chorley Old Road; travel to the junction of Chorley Old Road/New Church Road on the 501 (from Harpers Lane bus stop) and then wait on Chorley OId Road for a bus travelling to Bolton ie 519 or 125.

To return home would be a reverse of the procedure and not a very pleasant thought if one is accompanied by shopping bags, which could be bulky and/or heavy.

Anyone, for whatever reason who find themselves unable to walk to Morrison's, haven't got their own transport, and don't wish to use a taxi, will have to use public transport.
