A MOUNT St Joseph's School pupil has set her first step on the way to fame in the art world by winning a competition organised by the Bolton Lions Club.
Gemma Kierczuk designed a poster for the Lions Clubs International competition, emphasising the importance of world peace to young people.
Hers was among more than 300,000 entries submitted world-wide with a theme of 'Planting the seeds of Peace'.
Within the Bolton area, students from both Gemma's school and Harper Green School took part.
Gemma's winning design is to be put forward in the national competition, from which ultimately 24 finalists worldwide will be selected to contest a prize of £1000 and a trip to New York.
The school winners and runners-up were awarded certificates and book tokens at their school assemblies by Douglas Darroch, President of Bolton Lions Club.
