TWO crashes blocked a major commuter route in Bolton early today.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene on Manchester Road just after 9am.
Three cars were involved in the first accident and six were involved in a second collision nearby.
The road was completely blocked near the Greyhound Pub and the junction with Green Lane.
A pregnant woman was taken to hospital as a precaution and some of the drivers suffered whiplash, but there were no serious injuries reported.
The road was blocked for about 20 minutes.
