SELLARS For England! That was the cry from certain sections of the national media today as the Wanderers captain was being tipped to win a place in Kevin Keegan's squad for the European Championship qualifier against Poland at Wembley on Saturday week. The in-form 33-year-old midfielder, whose representative honours have been limited to U-21 caps, is being touted as a possible surprise inclusion when the squad is named on Thursday after being watched by Keegan's sidekicks Derek Fazackerley and Arthur Cox.
England are short of left-sided players - a situation made worse by Steve McManaman's problems at Liverpool - and Sellars has emerged as a possible target because he and Keegan built up a close relationship and mutual admiration as player and manager at Newcastle.
